CGV said on July 7 that Na Hong-jin's new film Hope has been chosen as the 29th title for Lee Dong-jin's Untact Talk and will screen exclusively on July 11(Saturday) and July 12(Sunday). According to CGV, the screenings will be held at 27 theaters nationwide, including CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall.

According to CGV, Lee Dong-jin's Untact Talk is CGV's non-face-to-face cinema talk program featuring commentary by film critic Lee Dong-jin. CGV said the program began in 2021 with Leos Carax's Annette and presented 28 films through last year's One Battle After Another, with Hope serving as this year's first Untact Talk title.

CGV said Hope, which is scheduled to open on July 15, starts when Beom-seok, the head of a Hopo Port office in the Demilitarized Zone, hears from young people in the village that a tiger has appeared, and the whole village is put on alert. CGV said the film is a new work Na Hong-jin prepared over a long period and that it drew attention after being invited to the competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival.

For this screening, CGV said an approximately 105-minute conversation video featuring Na Hong-jin and Lee Dong-jin will be shown exclusively after the film ends. According to CGV, the video includes Lee's commentary on the film, Na's account of the planning process and behind-the-scenes material from filming, and a 10-minute break before the talk video because of the film's running time.

According to CGV, Lee described the film in a one-line comment as 'a giant crescendo across the entire film, boldly racing through a grotesque uproar.' CGV said every audience member will receive a limited-edition Hope postcard.

Jang Ji-yeon, head of CGV's content operations team, said Lee Dong-jin's Untact Talk is CGV's representative cinema talk program that helps audiences view a work from a new perspective. Jang said, 'We hope this will be a time to understand the work more deeply through the world of Hope, Na Hong-jin's own explanation of his directing intention and production behind-the-scenes stories, and Lee Dong-jin's commentary.'
