EDITORIAL POLICY
Editorial & AI policy
So readers can trust and rely on KWaveWire's stories, here is how we handle editing and automation.
1. Editorial principles
KWaveWire is a trustworthy newsroom that quickly curates Korean entertainment — variety shows, K-pop, K-drama, celebrity updates, and Korean culture trends. Editorial responsibility for every story rests with KWaveWire, an independent online newsroom currently in beta. More about who runs KWaveWire is available on the About page.
We run desk-level bylines (for example, Entertainment Desk or Trends Desk) and never use fabricated reporter names.
2. Use of AI automation tools
The article text on this site is written and edited with the help of AI automation tools. Automation is used in the following areas:
- Gathering topic candidates and checking for duplicates
- Drafting and editing article text and headlines
- Writing summaries and suggesting categories
- Flagging risk levels and organizing sources
Editorial and fact-checking responsibility for every post rests with KWaveWire. Sensitive matters or anything that needs verification are reviewed by a person before publishing. The fact that a story was written or edited with AI is noted at the top of each article, and any AI-generated images, audio, or video are labeled separately within that article.
3. Review tiers
Low risk
Stories built on objective information — official press releases, official broadcast/OTT details, lifestyle trends — may be published automatically.
Medium risk
Stories that name real people but carry low controversy, and general information about prices, policy, or health, go through an additional review step.
High risk
Controversies involving named individuals, rumors or exposés, crime/death/illness, politically charged claims, investment or financial forecasts, minors, and private information are never published without human approval.
4. Sourcing policy
- We do not publish stories without a source.
- We prioritize official sources.
- For community and social media, we work from the original link and a summary.
- We do not reproduce original posts in full.
5. Image policy
We prioritize official images, press-release images, and licensed images. We do not present AI-generated images as real photographs, and when they are used we label them separately.
6. Headline policy
Headlines are informative by default, with a light touch of curiosity allowed. We do not use clickbait phrasing such as "shocking," "you won't believe," or "jaw-dropping."
7. Corrections and takedowns
When an error is confirmed in a story, we fix it as quickly as possible and leave a correction note. Requests related to corrections, takedowns, or rights infringement receive a first reply within 72 hours and a final resolution within 14 days. For matters with a high likelihood of rights infringement, we move quickly to consider unpublishing or removal even before then. For the full history and request process, see the corrections page.
