ETHICS

Code of ethics

KWaveWire follows these principles to create an environment where readers can read with confidence.

1. Editorial principles

KWaveWire is a trustworthy newsroom that quickly curates Korean entertainment — variety shows, K-pop, K-drama, celebrity updates, and Korean culture trends. Editorial responsibility for every story rests with KWaveWire, and our top priority is delivering accurate information with context to our readers.

2. Content standards

What we publish

  • Publicly verifiable online topics
  • Information based on broadcasts, OTT, official channels, and press releases
  • Lifestyle trends, consumer information, and digital culture
  • Topics for which we can provide a source link

What we do not publish

  • Rumors with unclear sourcing
  • Content with a high risk of invading privacy
  • Full reproductions of community posts
  • Content that mocks or defames an individual
  • Unverified exposés
  • Identifiable information such as the personal details of minors

3. Review and publishing standards

KWaveWire sets its review level according to how sensitive a story is. Stories centered on objective facts, such as official press releases or lifestyle information, can be published quickly. But stories about controversies involving named individuals, rumors, crime, politics, investment forecasts, minors, or privacy are always published only after human review.

4. Automation and transparency

The article text on KWaveWire is written and edited with the help of AI automation tools. We use automation across production — topic gathering, drafting, summarizing, categorizing, and risk assessment — and, regardless of how automation is used, editorial and fact-checking responsibility for every story rests with KWaveWire.

  • We note at the top of each article that it was written and edited with AI.
  • When it matters to a reader's judgment — such as AI images, AI audio, or AI video — we label it separately within that article.
  • We do not present unverified claims as fact.
  • We do not rewrite an original so heavily that it amounts to a copy.
  • We do not present AI-generated images as real photographs.

5. Sourcing principles

  • We do not publish stories without a source.
  • We prioritize official sources (official websites, broadcasters, press releases).
  • For community and social media sources, we work from the original link and a summary and do not reproduce the full text.
  • We remove personally identifying information and do not quote defamatory, hateful, or private content.
  • We do not publish stories based on deleted posts.

6. Headline and language standards

KWaveWire uses informative headlines by default and allows only a light touch of curiosity. We do not use sensational phrasing such as the following:

  • Exaggerations such as "shocking," "jaw-dropping," or "insane"
  • Click-baiting phrases such as "everyone was stunned" or "the twist no one saw coming"
  • Headlines that hide the facts to drive clicks

7. Author transparency

KWaveWire does not use fabricated reporter names, fake business or corporate details, or invented reporting histories. Stories are published under desk-level bylines (for example, Entertainment Desk or Trends Desk) and do not impersonate any specific individual reporter.

We also do not use phrases that pose as original, on-the-ground reporting, such as "reporting from the scene," "exclusive reporting," or "our reporter confirmed." KWaveWire's primary role is to curate, summarize, and add context to public press releases, official broadcast/OTT information, and community and social media trends.

8. Corrections and takedowns

When an error is confirmed in a story, we fix it as quickly as possible, and when a key fact has changed we leave the correction on the article. In cases of clear misinformation, rights infringement, or a high risk of identifying a person or invading privacy, we may remove or unpublish the content.

Requests related to corrections, takedowns, or rights infringement receive a first reply within 72 hours and a final resolution within 14 days. For the detailed process, see the corrections page.
