CJ CGV said it has completed the renewal of K-POP LIVE, a large digital media installation at Gangnam Eyes in Samseong-dong, Seoul. According to the company, operations began on July 1, 2026, and the upgraded site now has 12K ultra-high resolution and brightness of up to 12,000nit.

CJ CGV said the renewal reduced maximum power use by approximately 9% compared with the previous setup. The company described Gangnam Eyes as an urban cultural space in Gangnam-gu's free outdoor advertising zone, combining large digital media, media art and K-pop content.

According to CJ CGV, K-POP LIVE is an outdoor media platform it first introduced in 2018. The company said it has used the large curved LED screen to present digital creative formats including anamorphic content and FOOH, or Faux Out of Home, while expanding advertising into a content format.

CJ CGV said it unveiled WAVE in 2020 in collaboration with global digital media design company d’strict. The company also said K-POP LIVE has shown K-pop artist content and multiple media-art works, and described the site as having become a tourist spot for visitors from Korea and abroad.

The renewal was carried out with Kinoton Co., Ltd., according to CJ CGV. The company said the 12K ultra-high resolution and brightness of up to 12,000nit provide a clear screen in daytime, and said the renewal also strengthened the three-dimensional effect of anamorphic content designed around viewing angles.

New media-art content is also being introduced. CJ CGV said content including NIGHT FISH with d’strict, Gomyammi by Palomino and WIND CHIME by Beta Creative is scheduled to screen on K-POP LIVE at 1-hour intervals from 6 p.m. on July 1.

CJ CGV said it plans to continue presenting various media-art and brand content. Lee Tae-hoon, head of CJ CGV's advertising business division, said, 'K-POP LIVE has grown beyond advertising into a digital landmark representing the city and a media-art platform. Through this renewal, we will work to present more overwhelming picture quality and immersive content, while providing advertisers with differentiated brand experiences and citizens with new enjoyment.'

CJ CGV also said it operates the platform LED.ART with d’strict. According to the company, the platform provides premium media-art licensing services.
