Kim Young-kwang explains move into variety shows

Former footballer Kim Young-kwang will discuss why he entered variety entertainment after retirement on MBC's variety program 'Radio Star.' Kim Jung-min, Kim Young-kwang, Lee Seung-woo and Jung Seung-hwan are set to appear as guests on the episode airing July 22 at 10:30 p.m.

Kim says he had not considered broadcasting work at the time he retired. His view changed after he appeared in YouTube content and received an appearance fee the next day, and he recalls thinking, 'This is my path.'

Kim also shares a story about promoting his YouTube channel. He says that during settlement talks after a traffic accident, he handed out business cards for his YouTube channel, which he always carried, to the other driver and even to the driver's family.

Kim describes habits that remain from his time as a national team goalkeeper. He says he still catches a spoon dropped at a restaurant before it touches the floor, and that his hands react before he realizes it when objects enter his field of vision.

Kim also says he never closes his eyes even when a ball flies toward his face. He explains that from childhood he trained to keep watching a ball coming close to his face, and says he can keep his eyes open underwater as well.

The MCs then propose an impromptu 'don't blink challenge.' Kim takes on the challenge, but an unexpected situation unfolds in the studio.
