Jennie to release Less than a Lover on July 24
OA Entertainment said Jennie will release the single at 1 p.m. on July 24 after previewing it at music festivals.
Jennie is scheduled to release the new single 'Less than a Lover' on music platforms at 1 p.m. on July 24, OA Entertainment said on its official social media on July 21. The agency also shared a teaser poster for the single.
The teaser image shows Jennie looking at a summer landscape through the window of a moving truck. OA Entertainment said Jennie took part in directing the music video, writing the lyrics and the overall production process.
Jennie previously introduced the song on headliner stages at The Governors Ball Music Festival 2026 in the United States, Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Open'er Festival in Poland and Mad Cool Festival in Spain. After those performances, fan-shot videos circulated on SNS and short-form platforms, and requests for an official release followed.
The song combines lo-fi guitar riffs with vintage electric keyboard sounds, with Jennie's vocals layered over the arrangement. Jennie is also scheduled to appear at Lollapalooza Chicago in the United States and Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan.
