Go Woo-suk works out of bases-loaded jam in second scoreless outing

Go Woo-suk made his first appearance of the second half wearing a Twins uniform in the United States, as he had with his former team, the LG Twins, KBS said.

Go opened with a walk to the first batter, then faced Conforto at a full count and used a high-speed slider to catch him off balance, according to KBS. After giving up consecutive hits, he was put in a 1-out, bases-loaded situation.

KBS said Go got through the inning without allowing a run by leaning on off-speed pitches rather than fastballs. He struck out Alcantara, then induced a ground ball from the next hitter, Horner, extending his scoreless run to 2 consecutive games.

Go began his U.S. challenge in 2024 and spent time with many minor league teams, KBS said. His moves took him from San Antonio in Texas to Jacksonville, Pensacola and Jupiter in Florida, then to Beloit, Toledo and West Michigan in the north-central region, and Erie in Pennsylvania in the northeast, before reaching Minnesota.

KBS also said San Diego's Song Sung-mun had 3 hits for the first time since his debut. One of the plays came when an opposing fielder took the mound, and Song turned the so-called Arirang ball into his 3rd hit before reacting with a calm expression.
