Koo Hye-sun says she smoked daily for film role
Koo Hye-sun said on MBN that she smoked one pack a day during a 10-month period while preparing for a smoking scene in a feature film.

Actor-director Koo Hye-sun said she smoked one pack of cigarettes every day during a 10-month period to perform a smoking scene in a film.
Koo appeared on the MBN talk show Kim Ju-ha's Day and Night, which aired on the 18th, and discussed a past feature film that she directed and starred in.
Koo said people around her had pointed out that her smoking performance in the film did not look like 'real smoking.' She said, 'To master the acting myself, I deliberately smoked one pack every day for a 10-month period.'
Koo said she learned to smoke while keeping a video chat open with juniors from her university during the coronavirus period. She added, 'I also carried out a mission of going to a smoking room by myself.'
Koo said she later saw an eyewitness post on an anonymous app for university students saying, 'Koo Hye-sun is a heavy smoker.' She said she thought, 'If it is this much, I succeeded,' and only then proceeded with filming.
