The Journey to Gyeong-ju sets August 26 release
Lotte Entertainment said the family revenge film starring Lee Jung-eun, Gong Hyo-jin, Park So-dam and Lee Yeon will open on August 26.

The Journey to Gyeong-ju will open on August 26, Lotte Entertainment said on July 15. The film is set to reach audiences in late summer.
Lotte Entertainment described the film as a family revenge drama about a mother and her three daughters who set off on a 'killer' trip after waiting 8 years for Gyeong-ju, the youngest daughter who did not return from a school trip.
Lee Jung-eun plays Ok-sil, the mother. Gong Hyo-jin, Park So-dam and Lee Yeon play the sisters Jang-ju, Young-ju and Dong-ju, respectively.
A poster released with the opening-date announcement shows the family appearing ordinary while carrying an unsettling atmosphere. The poster copy says 'We kidnapped a murderer,' signaling the incident at the center of the film.
The Journey to Gyeong-ju is the first commercial feature from Kim Mi-jo, who directed Gull. Before release, the film was invited to festivals including the Hawai'i International Film Festival and the Florence Korea Film Fest.
