Muse reached No. 1 on the U.K. Official Albums Chart dated July 3 with 'The Wow! Signal', according to Billboard. The album gives the Devon-formed rock band its eighth U.K. chart-topping LP.
Billboard reported that the band’s 10th studio album follows 'Absolution' in 2004, 'Black Holes and Revelations' in 2006, 'The Resistance' in 2009, 'The 2nd Law' in 2012, 'Drones' in 2015, 'Simulation Theory' in 2018 and 'Will of the People' in 2022 as its U.K. No. 1 albums.
The trio, made up of Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme, is now tied with Oasis, The Killers and Led Zeppelin on the all-time list, Billboard reported. Each of those acts has eight U.K. No. 1 albums.
Billboard said Muse began their latest global tour on Thursday, July 2, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band is scheduled to play arenas in the U.K. and Europe later this year.
Elsewhere on the chart, Olivia Rodrigo stayed at No. 2 with 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love', while Michael Jackson’s 'The Essential' remained at No. 3, according to Billboard. Billboard reported that Olivia Dean’s 'The Art of Loving' ranked at No. 5, while The Pretty Reckless’ 'Dear God' landed at No. 4, becoming the band’s highest-charting LP to date. The report said The Pretty Reckless had previously reached the top 10 three times.
Katy Perry’s 'The One That Got the Plays' compilation entered the top 10 at No. 10, giving her a sixth overall top 10, according to Billboard. Bad Bunny’s shows at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadiums moved 'DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS' back up to No. 28, and Metallica’s 1997 album 'Reload' returned to the top 40 at No. 39 after a new box set reissue.
