Choi Kang-hee discusses why she once smoked

Choi Kang-hee said she had once smoked because she liked being around people and wanted to stay with others after filming.

When Lee Sung-mi asked whether she had been a heavy smoker, how long that continued and when she began, Choi said, 'It had not been long since I started. I smoked after I was past twenty, and I did it simply because I liked people so much.'

Choi said people she wanted to spend time with would go out separately to talk after filming. She said, 'I wanted to be in that place with them too.'

Lee asked whether the habit began in the sense of saying, 'I can smoke too.' Choi replied, 'I think that was the biggest reason. So I smoked.'

Choi added that when she gets into something, she tends to do so quickly, and that she falls into anything bad at a very fast pace. She said she now does not even go near such things, adding that she had thought, 'I am someone who cannot quit' and 'I can never quit.'

When Lee asked how many packs she smoked a day, Choi said she smoked whenever she had a chance. She added that anxiety and awkwardness made her smoke more, and that smoking eased those feelings.
