Former Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism vice minister Yong Ho-sung won AI Love Jazz, an international artificial intelligence jazz composition contest held for the first time this year.

According to the music industry on the 11th, Frozen Edge, which Yong made under the stage name Dr. Dragon using music-generation AI, was selected as the winning work at The Grand Finale Gala of the contest. The event took place from the 9th to the 10th, local time, in Montreux, Switzerland.

Yong entered public service after passing the 35th higher civil service examination in 1991. He was appointed first vice minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2024 and retired last year.

He debuted as a music critic through Monthly Auditorium and has contributed columns to various magazines. After leaving office, he studied AI composition through an advanced AI composition course at SM Universe, the education institution of SM Entertainment.

Yong is currently active as a drummer and writer.
