Ko Ji-yong, a businessman from Sechs Kies, made a donation to mark his birthday, his agency said on July 21. The agency said Ko donated proceeds from commemorative T-shirts recently sold through a collaboration with the brand Divine via the Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone.

The donation is scheduled to be used for vulnerable groups in need of help. Ko said his work as a public relations advisory committee member for Korea Social Security Information Service under the Ministry of Health and Welfare gave him a deeper understanding of the reality facing vulnerable groups and where help is needed.

Ko said he carried out the project after discussing ways to offer even a small amount of help and finding common ground with Kim So-young of Divine. He added that he wants the donation not to end as a one-time event, but to continue donation activities for people who need help.

Ko also released recent photos showing an improved state of health. After earlier rumors about health problems, Ko said last year, 'My liver levels rose acutely, and I was hospitalized. I was close to cirrhosis,' and said he was focusing on recovery under medical staff recommendations.

Ko debuted with Sechs Kies in 1997 and has worked as a businessman since leaving the group. He is currently continuing to communicate with fans through TikTok Live broadcasts.

While serving as a public relations advisory committee member for Korea Social Security Information Service under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, I came to understand more deeply the reality facing vulnerable groups and the areas where help is needed.

I do not want this donation to end as a one-time event, and I want to continue donation activities for people who need help.
