Uee says 'honey thighs' nickname caused hurt
The former After School member said on tvN STORY that the label helped the public know her, but also hurt her when she was 20 to 21.
Actor Uee, formerly of After School, discussed the nickname 'honey thighs' during a tvN STORY appearance that aired on July 20.
Uee said the label was tied to the early period of her debut and helped introduce her to the public. She said, 'It was a label I was grateful for because it let the public know me, but I was also hurt by it at the young age of 20 to 21.'
She said manipulated images placing honey jars on her face or thighs also circulated. Uee added that, seen positively, the phrase could refer to a healthy image, but after she lost weight, the comment she heard most was, 'Why did your thighs get so thin?'
Uee said that reaction led her to work harder on lower-body exercise.
