Number_i's 'BUGS LIFE' opens at No. 1 in Japan
The July 22 Billboard Japan Hot 100 also placed Mrs. GREEN APPLE at No. 2, NCT WISH at No. 3 and FRUITS ZIPPER at No. 4.
Number_i's 'BUGS LIFE' opened at No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 dated July 22. The digital single was released July 13 and started at No. 1 for downloads and radio airplay, while reaching No. 2 for video views and No. 11 for streaming.
The song became the trio's sixth chart-topper and brought Number_i to its eighth week at No. 1 on the Japan Hot 100. The chart's positions from No. 1 through No. 7 were all debuts this week.
Mrs. GREEN APPLE's 'Brand New' entered at No. 2. The track was written exclusively as the Japanese theme song for the film Spider-Man: Brand New Day and ranked No. 1 for streaming, No. 4 for downloads, No. 2 for radio and No. 11 for video.
Mrs. GREEN APPLE also had 10 songs in the top 100 this week, including 'lulu.' at No. 18, 'Lilac' at No. 25, 'Ao to Natsu' at No. 28 and 'Darling' at No. 50. NCT WISH's 'YO-I-DON!' followed at No. 3, with FRUITS ZIPPER's 'Power of Love' at No. 4.
A Kenshi Yonezu track debuted at No. 5 as the theme song for the film Kingdom 5: The Clash of Souls. It placed No. 3 for downloads and streaming and No. 6 for radio and video, while Yonezu also charted 'Karasu' at No. 12 and 'IRIS OUT' at No. 16.
SUPER★DRAGON's 'Call Me Asap' entered at No. 6 with 138,472 copies sold, and TAGRIGHT's 'ZERO' followed at No. 7. T.M.Revolution's 'HOT LIMIT' rose from No. 17 to No. 8, with video up 144%, downloads up 231% and radio up 244% week-over-week; it also debuted on the karaoke chart and returned to the streaming top 100 for the first time in approximately 10 years since 2016.
SixTONES' 'My Only' completed the top 10 at No. 10 after ranking No. 2 for downloads, No. 13 for streaming and No. 18 for video. A Southern All Stars song featured in the Netflix drama Human Vapor moved from No. 60 to No. 27.
Seasonal songs on the chart included YUI's 'SUMMER SONG' at No. 46, Southern All Stars' 'Manatsu no Kajitsu' at No. 77 and Yuzu's 'Natsuiro' at No. 84, while Keisuke Kuwata also appeared among the entries. Shakira and Burna Boy's 'Dai Dai,' the official song of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, climbed from No. 91 to No. 64. The Billboard Japan Hot 100 combines physical and digital sales, audio streams, radio airplay, video views and karaoke data, with this chart tallying the week from July 13 to 19.
