Choi Jung-won recalls performing after her mother's death
The musical actress said in a YouTube video that her mother died suddenly and that performing Hadestown helped her heal.

Newsis reported that musical actress Choi Jung-won reflected on the period after her mother's death in a video posted on the YouTube channel Too Much Kim Ho-young on the 7th. In the video, Kim Ho-young ate chicken with Choi and said, 'Jung-won's mother passed away not long ago. Given the situation at the time, Jung-won had to perform.'
Choi said, 'She passed away suddenly,' according to Newsis. She added, 'It happened to be a production called Hadestown. I was so grateful that I could receive healing by doing this performance. I usually cry a lot, but I finished it really well without shedding a single tear.'
Choi also said, 'After finishing the stage, I knelt on the floor in the wings, the spaces on both sides of the stage, and started crying; then everyone began crying, and all the things I felt sorry about toward my mother and the sadness I had felt in life came out. I said 'Mom, I'm sorry' the most.'
Newsis reported that Choi said, 'My motto is to become the kindest actor in the world.' She added, 'I try to memorize the names of each person I meet one by one and hug them.'
The report said Choi appeared on AM Plaza the same day and again spoke about her mother. Choi said, 'My mother passed away 2 years ago, and she passed away suddenly,' and added, 'I could not sleep and cried so much that I wondered whether my voice would come out, but the moment I went onstage, my body felt as light as if it could fly. I felt as though my mother was in the audience.'
