Maeng Seung-ji says she had cosmetic surgery after 12 years

Broadcaster Maeng Seung-ji said she had cosmetic surgery for the first time in 12 years, posting about the procedure on social media on the 11th.

Maeng uploaded a video with a message saying, 'I had cosmetic surgery after 12 years. Because of the swelling, I have not been able to make plans.' The video showed her wearing a hat and mask immediately after the surgery.

Maeng said she was sharing the update because she had received many messages about events and appointments. She added hashtags that translate as 'philtrum reduction surgery' and 'did it without mom knowing.'

Maeng said she had considered philtrum reduction surgery for 5 years before going through with it. She said she had long wanted the procedure but had delayed it because scarring was her biggest concern.

She said she tends to consider cosmetic surgery very conservatively because, in her view, a natural change is much prettier than a noticeable one. Maeng said she researched for several months because the choice is difficult to reverse once made.

Maeng said she compared the doctor's experience, scarring and whether the result would look natural before deciding. She said the video was filmed immediately after surgery and that she would share the recovery process one step at a time.
