Manager Kim, the SBS Friday-Saturday action drama starring So Ji-sub, recorded its own highest rating after passing 22%, according to Nielsen Korea on July 12.

Nielsen Korea said episode 6, which aired the previous day, posted a 22.3% nationwide rating. The figure set the highest rating for this year's miniseries and put the drama at No. 2 among SBS Friday-Saturday dramas on a nationwide basis, ahead of The Fiery Priest at 22.0% and Taxi Driver 2 at 21.8%.

For SBS Friday-Saturday dramas, the only listed higher mark was The Penthouse 2 at 29.2%. Manager Kim premiered on June 26 with 9.5%, then recorded 15.7% for episode 2, 18.8% for episode 3, 21.6% for episode 4, 20.5% for episode 5 and 22.3% for episode 6.

Episode 6 showed a rescue operation to save a hostage held by the Special Mission Bureau. One rescuer infiltrated the bureau and freed the hostage but was surrounded by a suppression team, and another arrival changed the situation before the group was surrounded again and decided to surrender.

At that moment, So Ji-sub's character appeared holding the vice minister for national security as a hostage and reunited with his daughter.
