Choiza says his food standards caused tension at home

Choiza of hip-hop duo Dynamic Duo said he had experienced discord with his wife over food. He made the comments on the 19th broadcast of MBN entertainment program 'Altoran', which featured Lee Sang-min, Lee Yeon-bok, Cha Yu-na and Danny Ahn.

Choiza made a surprise visit to chef Bae Jae-hoon's restaurant during the program. When Choiza appeared, chef Jang Ho-jun said, 'Why do you only come here and not to our restaurant?' and added, 'In our industry, people say you have to satisfy Choiza to survive. It is higher than Michelin.'

Choiza denied that characterization, saying he simply likes eating and visits different places. He said, 'That is absolutely not true. Because I like eating so much, I go here and there, and when these two say they are doing something new, I get curious and go.'

When Danny Ahn said he was not especially serious about food and eats anything, Choiza said the two did not seem to have the same approach. Choiza said, 'I never eat food that does not taste good forever. If I eat tasteless food, I feel bad all day. I wish every meal tasted good.'

Choiza then showed a restaurant map saved on his phone and described how far his interest in food goes. He said, 'My target lifespan is 140 years. I want to live healthily until 140, and even on the day I die, I want to be chewing meat. If that much happens, I think I could close my eyes. If that does not happen, I think I would feel wronged when I die.'

Choiza said his wife had struggled because of this aspect of his personality. He recalled, 'At first there was discord. She made braised spicy chicken, and I reacted by saying things like, 'Did you put in salted shrimp?' and 'How many minutes did you boil it?'

Choiza said his wife cried once after hearing those kinds of comments, and he wondered whether he would be criticized again after the broadcast. Danny Ahn responded by scolding him, saying it was fortunate she only cried because she could have overturned the dish.
