YouTuber apologizes after visiting Jennie's agency
Potato Turtle apologized after criticism over a video showing her unannounced visit to BLACKPINK member Jennie's agency.

YouTuber Potato Turtle, whose real name is Song Ji-yoon, apologized after criticism continued over her visit to BLACKPINK member Jennie's agency in an attempt to meet her.
Potato Turtle said on social media on July 14, 'I sincerely apologize to everyone who felt uncomfortable because of the video I uploaded. I have read each of the comments left for me and am deeply reflecting on my careless behavior.'
Potato Turtle is a YouTuber with about 36 ten-thousand subscribers. She recently released a video saying she was attempting one item on her bucket list: 'having coffee with BLACKPINK's Jennie.' The video showed her visiting Jennie's agency in Hannam-dong, Yongsan District, Seoul.
In the video, Potato Turtle said, 'I heard my unnie Jennie's company is in Hannam-dong. I live in Haebangchon. We have Yongsan in common. Opportunity comes to those who knock.' She went to the agency carrying a letter, a bouquet and heart-shaped balloons.
When Potato Turtle rang the entrance bell, a man presumed to be an agency employee told her Jennie was not there. Potato Turtle gave the man the letter and flowers, then left.
After the video was released, online criticism said it was inappropriate to visit a celebrity's agency without prior notice. Potato Turtle later made the video private and posted an apology.
Potato Turtle said she had not realized that going to the company without arrangement and delivering a letter and bouquet could be seen as sasaeng behavior. She said, 'I wanted to convey my sincerity by delivering the letter and making this process into a video, but the way I did it was wrong.'
She added, 'I think I was too ignorant about idol fan culture. I will act more carefully from now on. I am sorry.'
