Kwon Jin Ah presents a rock-focused third EP
The singer-songwriter releases the 5-track project at 6 p.m. on the 15th, moving from R&B ballad toward a full rock format.

Kwon Jin Ah is presenting herself as a rock artist after being associated with the 'ballad goddess' label. The singer-songwriter will release her third EP on online music platforms at 6 p.m. on the 15th.
The new project differs from her earlier work by setting aside her representative R&B ballad style and filling the release with rock. Its stated theme is that, through many turning points and relationships in life, the person who ultimately protects and rescues oneself is oneself.
The EP contains 5 tracks, including an opening track, a title track, a pre-release track, a track with 87 in its title and a closing track. The title track is described as a rock number carrying a message of shaking off self-hatred inside the heart and rescuing oneself.
The title track also includes a large sing-along section that recalls a midsummer festival stage and is described as giving listeners a sense of release. Since her debut, Kwon Jin Ah has been linked with ballads, while also showing a pop-rock direction through album tracks and playing electric guitar herself on solo stages.
At her year-end concert last year, Kwon Jin Ah took the guitar position during a band performance stage and appeared as both a session player and host. Through the new EP, she plans to convey the courage that 'you are not alone, and we must keep living' while connecting with the public.
An agency representative said Kwon Jin Ah has turned intense inner concerns from her growth process into music. The representative said she had mainly built empathy through quieter songs, but this time chose a genre attempt that could best express her current thoughts.
This album also contains many lyrics drawn from her thoughts and life, so although it is music in a different genre from what she has shown before, listeners can feel empathy and, paradoxically, gain strength.
