Park Mi-sun and Lee Bong-won's son is acting under changed surname
SBS Entertainment News said Choi Sangyeob has been working as an actor without foregrounding his parents' names, including at an audition 2 years ago.

According to SBS Entertainment News, Cho Hye-ryun's YouTube channel included a discussion that Choi Sangyeob, the son of Park Mi-sun and Lee Bong-won, is active as an actor. The report said Park Mi-sun, Lee Kyung-sil and others spoke about recent updates and family matters, and Park recalled a period when she briefly stopped work because of a health issue.
Park spoke about her feelings toward her children, according to SBS Entertainment News. 'As I was sick this time, I thought I needed to have family. My daughter recorded each stage of my illness and uploaded it to YouTube. She put real care into it,' Park said.
Cho Hye-ryun, the producer of the play Love You, Mom, mentioned Choi, according to the report. 'Her son changed his surname and is working as an actor,' Cho said. 'There was a young man who came to audition 2 years ago, and it turned out he was Park Mi-sun's son. I did not know when he was taking the test.'
Cho also said Choi has been working under the surname Choi, and said he was cute, handsome and acted very well, according to SBS Entertainment News. Cho said Lee Bong-won came to a performance venue and failed to recognize his own son, asking where Sangyeob was before Choi later said, 'I am Sangyeob,' which surprised him.
Park said her son had wanted to be a comedian when he was young, according to the report. She said she and Lee told him they would teach him and even showed him how to fall, but he later said he would become an actor. Park said she and Lee did not know the acting field well enough to know how to help, but that Choi changed his name and has quietly followed his path without help from his parents.
According to SBS Entertainment News, Choi is currently an actor at Cube Entertainment, the same agency as Park and Lee. The report said he has appeared in the plays Love You, Mom, Please Fill Mimi, Hamlet Trial and Orlando, as well as the films How to Draw the Line, Our Neighborhood Superhero and AirDrop, and the KBS 1TV drama Cheongsan-ri: Reconstruction of the Battle. It said he is also continuing work in advertising and YouTube dramas.
A Cube Entertainment representative told SBS Entertainment News that Choi had a strong will to be recognized as an actor himself rather than through his parents' reputation. The representative said Choi kept auditioning after changing his surname without revealing whose son he was, and added that he is trusted on set for his quiet and sincere personality and has been growing step by step without refusing small roles.
