KBS reported that KT said on July 9, 2026 that it took part in global events connected to the United Nations and the International Telecommunication Union to discuss ways to cooperate on AI globally.

According to KBS, KT joined the ITU round-table session 'AI Foundation: Digital Trust and AI Infrastructure for All' at the 'AI for Good Global Summit' in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 7 local time. KT said the discussion covered how to secure basic trust elements in the era of agent AI.

KT described those trust elements as 'identity,' meaning confirmation of whose agent it is, 'consent,' meaning the scope of permission, and 'verifiability,' meaning whether something can be proven, according to KBS.

KBS reported that KT also joined the UN's 'Global AI Governance Dialogue' on the same day to discuss AI governance best practices and cooperation measures. In the detailed session 'Respecting, protecting and promoting human rights: transparency, accountability and human intervention,' KT said it stressed that the human rights principles established by the UN should be guaranteed in the same way as AI develops.

KT also said it intends to work with the UN to create prevention, protection and monitoring systems related to AI safety, according to KBS. Park Wan-jin, a senior managing director in charge of Tech Strategy at KT's AX Future Technology Institute, said that in an era when agents act on behalf of people, guaranteeing human rights alongside the speed of technological innovation and building interoperable digital trust are more important than anything.

In an era when agents act on behalf of people, it is more important than anything to guarantee human rights alongside the speed of technological innovation and build interoperable digital trust. As a business that directly develops AI models while also being able to provide neutral trust infrastructure, KT will contribute responsibly to global standards discussions.
