BTS performs at World Cup final halftime show

BTS performed during the World Cup final halftime show on July 20, the first halftime show held at a World Cup final, according to KBS.

After the first half ended, a rainbow-colored circle symbolizing Earth appeared on the stadium floor. Brazilian football stars Ronaldo and Ronaldinho appeared with Madonna before BTS took the stage.

BTS's first Billboard chart-topping song Dynamite filled the stadium. For the World Cup stage, the lyrics were changed from table tennis to football.

Fans without final tickets watched the halftime show at outdoor cheering venues. One fan identified as Rice said, 'BTS! We are all so happy because our favorite K-pop band BTS is in the final.'

K-pop artists also appeared at the tournament's opening ceremonies. At the opening ceremony in Mexico, EJAE performed Golden from KPop Demon Hunters, while BLACKPINK's Lisa appeared at the opening ceremony in the United States.

BTS will hold a world tour concert next month at the New York-New Jersey stadium that hosted the World Cup final. More than 80,000 fans are expected to attend, according to KBS.
