Hong Hyun Hee and Jasson tear up over son’s first errand
The couple watched from a distance as Junbeom went out alone to buy a toy in a July 12 YouTube video.

Broadcaster Hong Hyun Hee and Jasson shed tears while watching their son Junbeom take on his first errand, as shown in a video released July 12 on the couple’s YouTube channel.
The video was titled 'My 4-Year-Old’s First Errand'. In the video, Jasson said he wanted to send Junbeom on an errand because he wanted to help him develop independence.
Hong said she was worried, saying Junbeom had not yet turned four and that the task seemed difficult, though she also said the route was familiar. Jasson said he believed children can do as much as they are trusted to do, adding that he wanted Junbeom to feel a sense of achievement and confidence.
The video showed Junbeom setting out alone to buy a toy. The couple followed him from a distance in case something unexpected happened.
As Junbeom moved farther away, Hong became tearful and said he was walking bravely even though he usually asks to be carried when he goes out with them. She said the short distance made her think about life, showing both a child becoming independent and parents watching from behind.
Jasson also became emotional and said parents may need to practice watching over their children from behind. He added that, in the end, the end point of parenting is independence and that trusting a child is important.
I believe the saying that children do as much as you trust them to do. I want to give him a sense of achievement. I want to instill the confidence that says, 'I can do it too.'
When he goes with us, he says, 'Carry me,' but he is walking bravely. As he gets farther away, I tear up. It is moving.
In this short distance, it felt like I was seeing life. I could see a child becoming independent, and it felt like the parents were leaving first.
