K-content IP event in Singapore records 187 business talks
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and KOCCA said 10 Korean companies joined a two-day program with Singapore's IMDA.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency said they held 'K-Content IP Accelerate Day 2026' at the Infocomm Media Development Authority office in Singapore on July 15 and 16. The two organizations said the event expanded cooperation channels for Korean broadcasting and video content companies in areas including co-production and investment.
The event was organized by KOCCA's Singapore Business Center and co-hosted with the Infocomm Media Development Authority. KOCCA said the program was prepared so Korean content companies could expand overseas business opportunities beyond exports, including co-production, strategic cooperation and investment attraction.
Ten Korean broadcasting and video content companies took part: Desert Bloom Pictures, Bamboo Network, Studio W.Baba, Studio S, Another Story, West World Story, KBS Media, TakeOne Company and The Pinkfong Company, along with one additional participating company. KOCCA said the companies joined the main event after online one-on-one company diagnosis sessions with the operator and tailored preparation for each company.
The program included a policy workshop on IMDA's content support policies and cooperation strategy, a market information workshop on Southeast Asia's online video service market trends and outlook, one-on-one business meetings with local production, investment and distribution companies, and content presentation and networking sessions. On the first day, IMDA's Charlotte Lee introduced Singapore government policies for content talent development and digital content support programs, while Media Partners Asia's Dhyvya T presented 'The Korean Wave, Measured: SEA's Streaming Map' and analyzed Southeast Asia's content market growth potential and Korean content competitiveness based on data.
On the second day, KOCCA said about 170 local content industry officials attended the public session, close to 2 times the initial estimate. The session began with industry trend sharing by CJ ENM Studios and Viu Korea, followed by content presentations from the 10 participating companies and one-on-one business talks between the Korean companies and local companies.
A CJ ENM Studios representative presented 'K-Content: What's Driving Global Momentum and What's Next', covering production systems and co-production strategies linked to the global spread of K-content. A Viu Korea representative presented 'K-Content Through a Regional Platform's Lens: Viu's Experience, Partnerships, and Future Direction', covering the platform's operating experience, partnership cases and future cooperation direction from a platform perspective.
A total of 45 companies joined the two-day one-on-one meetings, including producers MediaCorp, Beach House Pictures and August Pictures, distributors Amazon Prime Video and Warner Bros. Discovery, and investors East Ventures and Tembusu Partners. KOCCA said 187 consultations were held on site, and more than 50 additional meeting-connection requests were made during the event.
Hugh Cha, representative of Desert Bloom Pictures, said, 'Through this event, along with the high level of local interest, discussions actively took place around international co-production and investment cooperation beyond simple rights sales, and we were able to confirm that cooperation with Korean content is expanding beyond simple consumption toward joint planning and shared growth.' He added, 'I hope the discussions held this time lead to concrete co-production outcomes, and that Korean content further expands cooperation with the Asian market with Singapore as a base.'
Studio W.Baba signed a memorandum of understanding for a partnership with Singapore company Bifrost Media, and KOCCA said cooperation was reviewed in areas including short-form content co-production and licensing partnerships. The director of KOCCA's Singapore Business Center said, 'Demand for co-production and partnerships between the two countries is increasing rapidly,' and added, 'We will continue to expand links with local institutions so that, with Singapore as a key base, global cooperation and overseas expansion can become even more active.'
