The Husband episode 3 records 5.3% rating
KBS2's weekend miniseries followed Kang Tae-joo and Go Se-yoon through a kidnapping case, with episode 3 reaching a 7.3% peak rating.

KBS2's weekend miniseries The Husband recorded 5.3% in nationwide household ratings for episode 3, which aired on July 11, according to Nielsen Korea. Its minute-by-minute peak rating reached 7.3%, a series high for that measure, while the nationwide rating also rose from episode 1.
The episode showed how tragedy began for the married couple Kang Tae-joo, played by Namkoong Min, and Go Se-yoon, played by Lee Seol. Scenes from their wedding were crosscut with the moment when they lost their daughter. Go Se-yoon broke down after Kang Tae-joo could not be reached during the girl's emergency surgery, asking, 'Where were you? Where were you while our Ha-yoon ended up like that? This is all because of you!' Kang Tae-joo was shown in shock and grief.
In the present timeline, Kang Tae-joo was under police investigation as a suspect in his wife's kidnapping. Lee Soo-hyung, played by Park Byung-eun, told him, 'If you want to find your wife, come to Shinyu-dong 543-7 by 11 o'clock.' After a blackout at the police station, Kang Tae-joo escaped through a drainpipe, took surgical tools and anesthetic from a hospital and drove off to find his wife.
Police continued to pursue him. Patrol cars and a detectives' van surrounded Kang Tae-joo's vehicle, but he drove through the blockade and kept fleeing.
Go Se-yoon, meanwhile, did not give up trying to escape after being confined by kidnapper No Man-hee, played by Kim Dae-myung. Pointing to an hourglass, No Man-hee threatened her, 'When all of that runs out, you will die, ma'am.' Go Se-yoon endured pain and used a topical pain-relief liquid to free herself from her shackles.
The episode also presented No Man-hee's two-sided conduct. At a computer academy, he acted as a kind instructor, while at other moments he watched Go Se-yoon through CCTV.
Near the end of the broadcast, Kang Tae-joo's car, still running from police, collided head-on with a police car. At the same time, Go Se-yoon tried to break an iron door by connecting a steel ball to a ceiling beam. The ending showed the two characters fighting to survive in separate places.
